Hilton brings Motto brand to Japan with 108-room Kyoto hotel opening in 2029

Hilton is collaborating with Heiwa Real Estate Co to open up Motto by Hilton Kyoto Shijo Karasuma. The 108-key hotel is going to start in 2029.

Hilton currently manages 13 Motto hotels, with over 24 resorts under improvement. Recent openings featured real estates in Brazil and Nashville, USA, while the group has also inked arrangements for properties in Paris, Shanghai and Sydney.

“Motto by Hilton Kyoto Shijo Karasuma will give a new, nearby ingrained hospitality experience that motivates meeting, developing a brand-new kind of stay for guests looking to submerse themselves in Japan’s cultural capital,” stated Alex Shockley, Hilton’ top director, lifestyle and collection labels for Asia Pacific.

This is going to be the first Motto by Hilton property in Japan. The hotel will include an all-day dining restaurant and a lobby with an open balcony.

Hilton will take care of the property for Heiwa. The Japanese developer and realty business manages a portfolio of commercial and non commercial properties in Japan, featuring the stock exchange buildings in towns like Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka.

“As part of our attempts to realise our long-term vision, WAY2040, we are increasing our hotel business as a new area of development,” claimed Kiyoyuki Tsuchimoto, the company’s representative executive officer, president and CEO.

In Kyoto, Hilton’s portfolio is set to grow to seven hotels throughout different brands, including an upcoming Curio Collection by Hilton property.

The hotel will be a two-minute walk from Shijo Terminal on the Kyoto Municipal Metro Karasuma Line and Karasuma Terminal on the Hankyu Kyoto Line. This is going to permit guests practical transport accessibility to popular Kyoto tourist attractions such as Nishiki Market, the well-known Gion and Higashiyama districts, and retail offerings in the Shijo Kawaramachi location.
